Is it important to learn about the history of Technology?

I honestly dont think you should know the history of technology. You can know it and have that knowledge, but how is it going to help you in life except in a technology gameshow. It can help you solve why the internet and the computer where invented, but that to me is common sense. You can go though life and not know nothing about the history of technology and still get buy and learn how to use an iPod. You can still use a computer to lisen to Kanye West.
